Like someone said in an earlier post, what is a day to The Lord? I prefer to believe like ut1, we were created and molded in the image of God(whether it be your god) or my God is the reason we have to rely on faith. As far as dinosaurs are concerned, I believe the Bible explains them and the big bang theory. Genesis 1:1-2
In the beginning, God created the heavens and earth.
And the earth was void, and without form.
What happened between verses one and two. Could this be when the dinosaurs were destroyed? Just some "food for thought"

The problem with the evolutionary theory is when we come to the great leap from species to species. Noone will (or should) deny that there is mutation within species. This is what is often pointed to as proof of evolution. The problem is that this is not evolution at all it's mutation. For evolutionary theory to be correct we must absolutely have that leap, species to species.
Mutation within species simply does not lead to that leap and the intermediary fossil record is pretty much none existent. We should have a decent intermediary fossil record if we had gradual species to species evolution.
This absence of fossil evidence has troubled even the strongest proponents of evolution.
Dr. Stephen Gould once said:
"The absence of fossil evidence for intermediary stages between major transitions in organic design, indeed our inability, even in our imagination, to construct functional intermediates in many cases, has been a persistent and nagging problem for gradualistic accounts of evolution."
I have a solution to the problem. They don't exist because the intermediaries never existed.
My personal belief is that we had an intelligent creator, God.
The earth is not 4,000 or 6,000 or 8,000 years old. It is far older and I can find no reason to believe a young earth from a christian perspective. The Bible does not indicate a young earth IMO.
Leading evolutionists have been caught on numerous occasions expounding evidence they know to be false in support of the theory of evolution yet it is the creationist movement that seems to always be accused of not dealing with facts? I am inherently suspicious of liars. Why would one bother to propagate a lie in support of a theory unless that theory was inherently important to that persons belief system or system of values?
That's my rant for now.
Did you just quote Dr. Gould...nice, great writer, used alot of modern analogies. He was the one who came up with the idea of punctuated equilibrium.
So in other words are humans just a case of "hopeful monsters"...a mutation that gives the new species a distinct advantage over others?

We are as we were created. With the exception of basic things like size due to better nutrition I believe we, as are all species, like we were created.
Now I fully understand that with selective breeding we could produce a race of extremely tall humans, a race of pygmies, or a race of primarily red headed humans,.....but they would still be humans after how ever many generations.
That is the reason for the lack of intermediary fossil record. There have been no intermediaries. A bird has always been a bird, call it Archaeopteryx or whatever you want, it was a bird. As many anthropologists have now determined. Only those with an agenda insist it was a dino to bird intermediary. One problem with this is that other bird species are now known to have existed long before this supposed transitional one.
A fish has always been a fish, call it a coelacanth if you want, but it's a fish. As was born out when this rare example of an intermediary fossil was caught alive and well of the coast of South Africa and scientists who had been using fossil remains of this odd fish as an example of a water to land intermediary were horrified to learn that they still existed exactly as the fossil record showed them and were still regularly eaten by the locals [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif[/img] Hadn't evolved at all........
And yes I did quote Dr. Gould. Did you know that his leading protege is a creationist? I can't recall his name off top of my head.
Anyway, I feel that the evolutionist movement has been given a free pass over time. They really should have been and still should be called to task for the many frauds that are taught as truth. I've already given a couple of examples. Here is one more:
The famous peppered moth study used as the primary teaching tool for natural selection. Who was aware that these moths don't even rest on tree trunks as shown in countless (TEXTBOOKS) they were (GLUED) there by people with an agenda! (This was actually uncovered by people working for "The Scientist" magazine) Yet the creationist is accused of ignoring fact to promote his / her agenda?!?

the reason ppl compare birds w/ dinos is there skull. I think both are diapsid, (2 holes) and birds are the only thing modern that has 2 holes in its head.
Another example of a great hoax by evolutionistd is the famed Scopes Monkey Trial in Rhea Co. TN. These evolutionionists claimed to have found evidence of a "race" of intermediary man they called "Nebraska Man" since this overwhelming proof was "discovered" by Harold Cooke in that state. Artist drawings showed a nice Nebraska Man family sitting fireside taking it easy. They claimed this was proof that evolution must be taught in schools.
Well lo and behold, and not told to anyone, this whole race of man was constructed around ONE tooth that was found at a dig. Well, when finally some investigation was allowed this tooth was found to have belonged to a peccary, a kind of pig! Just think....man tried to make a monkey from a pig and ended up man being made an a$$ by the pig!
But it just goes to show how devious and dishonest these evolutionist will be to deny the existence of God. Many times they have taken a tooth, or single bone and constructed an entire creature that they have colored and even concocted a "sound" it may have made to convince some that this creature they have imagined from a single piece of evidence was actually as they portray!
